I think this author is very interested in ghosts and she is very good at writing to make not only her characters come to life, but her setting as well! What happened to Maddy? Why did she commit suicide? Does her ghost really haunt the barn? It was very gripping and had a very similar vibe of authors such as Daphne du Maurier and Hannah Kent! This is my second Simone St. I throughly enjoyed immersing myself into these characters lives. With a tone of atmospheric eeriness that will make your skin crawl, this creepy novel set in 1920s England, is hard to put down!
